Their remarkable achievement of securing the second-place spot in the Motsepe Under-14 tournament is a testament to their talent, dedication, and determination. For the team, this journey will forever be unforgettable.

Coach Mbulelo Jack, beaming with pride, expressed his gratitude for what his young charges had achieved and his own remarkable calling to become a female football mentor. “It’s been an incredible journey,” he exclaimed. “I’m incredibly proud of the girls and myself for answering this great calling from God to be the best female football mentor.”

The team’s path to the final was paved with resilience and exceptional teamwork. In their opening game, the Kevin Nkoane girls secured a solid 2-0 win against De Kuli Primary, setting the stage for the rest of their campaign.

The second game was won in more convincing fashion as they dominated Bongani Primary with a commanding 8-0 win.

The girls were high on confidence, but it was their final match against Iketleletso Middle School that would decide their fate. In a closely contested match, they narrowly lost 2-1, earning themselves the runners-up spot in the tournament.

Once again, a standout star emerged in the form of Mpumelelo Moncho, whose incredible talent shone throughout the tournament. Moncho’s prolific goal-scoring ability earned her the title of the tournament’s top goal scorer with an astonishing nine goals, contributing to her overall tally of 31.

Coach Jack took a moment to express his gratitude to the school’s management for their unwavering support. He acknowledged that without their trust, none of this would have been possible.

Coach Jack’s remarkable achievements in 2023 include securing the second position in the Sasol Women’s League, Stream B, and finishing fourth in the Women’s Regional League.

However, the highlight of his coaching career came with Kevin Nkoane Primary School’s Motsepe Under-14 girls’ triumph in the Sol Plaatje Football Structure, where they emerged as champions. In addition, the team clinched the Frances Baard Regional Football Structure title and achieved a commendable second-place finish in the Northern Cape Provincial Motsepe competition.

The journey is far from over for Coach Jack and his talented squad as they prepare for the provincial play-offs with the Diamond Ladies Football team on September 16, 2023, at Kathu Stadium.

Their continued success promises to be an inspiration to young athletes everywhere, and who knows, it might just inspire a few to dream big and play for Banyana Banyana one day.
