Roodepan police seek help locating two missing persons

The Roodepan police have sought the assistance of the public in locating two missing individuals.

THE ROODEPAN police have sought the assistance of the public in locating two missing individuals.

The first person is Allie Edgar Pommer, a 40-year-old coloured male, residing at 21st Street No 42, Homevale extension, Kimberley. He was last seen on Sunday, September 4, 2022, leaving for home after a visit to his brother at the Ivory Park shanties, but he never reached his destination.

The second missing person is Basil Owen Smith, a 35-year-old coloured male, residing at 45201 Ivory Park in Roodepan. He was last seen on Saturday, February 11, 2023, wearing black jeans and a white T-shirt. Smith is mentally challenged and often enjoys walking from home to sit at the corner of Raven Street crossing in Roodepan, usually returning home afterwards.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these two missing individuals is urged to contact the investigating officer, Captain Allistair Slambert, at 071 675 4427 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111, or use the MySAPS app. All information provided will be kept confidential.

The police have also reminded the public that there is no waiting period to report a person missing.
