Results for the week of August 23 to 26 are:

The Wednesday, August 23 John Dory’s sponsored 18-hole IPS competition was won by Gary Hepburn on 39pts with Gavin Schafer 2nd on 38pts and Fuad Mahri 3rd on 37pts.

The Thursday, August 24 KWV sponsored 9-hole IPS with power play options was won by Braam Botes with 27 pts on a count-out over Keith Brown also on 27pts. Third was Shane Arthur on 22pts.

The Friday, August 25 Griquas Golf Day was a great success. Many stayed after to watch the Boks thump the All Blacks and you all can imagine the excitement amongst our Griquas and everyone else watching (except Cedric). The format for the day was BBS Scramble Drive and 1st was the team of A Barnard and D Odendaal on 50pts. Second were Koos and Chris on 49pts and 3rd Eddie Malouly and Lionel Jacobs on 48pts. Fourth were W Kruger and J de Wet on 47pts. Thanks everyone for all the support and glad you had a good day.

The Saturday, August 26 Club sponsored 18-hole IPS was won by Jacques Gouws with 37pts on a count-out – he also took the Charlies prize. Second was M Groenewald also on 37 pts and 3rd Muzapher Allie on 37 all on a count-out.

The Sunday league continued on August 28, before the course opened for social golf.

Please note that the visitor fee for 18 holes has been reduced to R350. Except for corporate and other special days.

The following is planned for the weeks of September 1 to 9

Players please keep our course tidy. Don’t discard bottles, paper etc. – there are rubbish bins at every tee-off. Please pick up as you go. Let us not have the course looking like the filthy city of Kimberley.

Friday, September 1: Flamingo Niner.

Saturday, September 2: Club BBS competition. Also the Charlies take on Magersfontein at the tough Magers course in a return match.

Sunday, September 3: Social golf with special rates applying.

Monday, September 4: Course closed but office open for business

Tuesday, September 5: Social golf with special rates applying.

Wednesday, September 6: Konica Minolta sponsored 18-hole BBS.

Thursday, September 7: KWV sponsored Niner.

Friday, September 8: Sealing Solutions Golf Day Format BBS Scramble drive

Saturday, September 9: Club sponsored 18-hole IPS and the monthly Seniors outing BBS.
