Kimberley Golf Club results for the week of December 6 to 9 and a look ahead to the week of for the period of December 12 to 17.

Results for the week of December 6 to 9 2023 are:

The Wednesday, December 6 Hussar Grill sponsored 18-hole IPS competition was won by Barend V Zyl on 38 pts. Second was Connor Mcnamara with 34 pts over 3rd placed Barend Burger on 33 pts.

The Thursday, December 16 KWV sponsored Niner with power play options was won by Eddie Barkhuizen on 27 pts with Anthony Crozier 2nd with 26 pts and Willie Delport 3rd on 20 pts.

The Friday, December 17 Flamingo Casino sponsored Niner was won by Susan Alexander on 19 pts with Neville Alexander 2nd with 19 pts, Jade Paton 3rd on 17 pts and Kevin Antill in 4th with 17 pts.

The Saturday, December 18 New Vaal Motors sponsored 18-hole fourball alliance competition was won by Kareem Anderson’s Team with 95 pts, Zayhied Suliman’s Team 2nd with 95 pts losing the count-out. Cedric Vd Ross’ Team ended 3rd with 93 pts over 4th placed Johann Liebenberg’s Team with 91 pts. Peter Raubenheimer’s team finished 5th placed over Duncan Changfoot’s Team in 6th with 85 pts.

The ladies won the annual game vs the Seniors no doubt due to their star Honorary ladies Eddie Barkhuizen and Johan Herselman who posted 42pts. Second was Daan Fourie and Jock Robey on 38pts.

Down at Magersfontein where many Club Members were playing in the annual Boer vs Brit tournament to commemorate the Battle of Magersfontein, history prevailed with the Boer forces proving too strong as they did 124 years ago.
