ALL ROADS lead to the Kimberley Rugby Club’s Rugga Inn Sports Field at 6 Moore Road, Verwoerd Park, when the Ntlo Signs 7s rugby tournament kicks off on Saturday.

The tournament kicks off at 12 noon and runs until 6pm, and sees eight teams participating, namely Hartswater I and II, Christiana I and II, Kimberley Lights, Black Warriors, Universals RFC, and Safari Rangers.

Each match will last a total of 16 minutes, seven minutes per half, with a two-minute halftime break in-between.

Windhoek Draught Griquas winger Rosko Specman will be the special guest at the event, as well as Alan Edward Niekerk, after whom the floating trophy was named.

Niekerk is a Universals Old Boy who played for the team for 35 years, and in 1966, he played in the flank position for the Griquas in their match against Transvaal.

City residents are invited to go and watch a fast-paced, jam-packed rugby day on Saturday. Food stalls will be available for when hunger bites, but for the younger crowd there will be jumping castles and other entertainment to keep them busy.
