According to Dawie Swanepoel from the Kimberley Pirates Tug of War club, they are still waiting for several countries to confirm if they will be taking part in this event, but one thing can be sure, Kimberley will be getting a boost from this event.

“So far, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia have confirmed, but we are still waiting for Lesotho, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria to confirm if they will be attending the event,” Swanepoel said.

Pirates will have both their men’s and women’s teams competing in the Open Clubs Championship at this prestigious event.

The All African Tug of War Championships promise to be a thrilling event, with some of the best teams from the continent competing for the ultimate prize. The organisers are hoping that this event will not only showcase the sport of tug of war but also highlight Kimberley as a destination for sports tourism.
