The results from the Kimberley Golf Club for the week of September 13-18, and what is planned for September 23 to October 2.

The results from the Kimberley Golf Club for the week of September 13-18 are as follows:

The Wednesday Konica Minolta sponsored BBS competition was won by Eddie Barkhuizen and Nico Fourie with 47 pts. Second was Gavin van Zyl and J O’Conner on 46 pts on a count-out over Willie Delport and Pieter Roux du Toit. Fourth was Ronnie Engelbrecht and Dries Mostert on 45 pts.

The Friday Flamingo sponsored Niner IPS was won by Andries Kori with 23 pts on a gross score of 31. Second was B van Zyl Jnr with 21 pts followed by P Maritz on 20 pts on a count-out over Jaco Janse also on 20 pts.

The Saturday KGC IPS competition over 18 holes saw Allan Doherty shoot his best ever round for a gross of 70 on a 6 handicap making 44 pts. Second was Jacques Fourie on 43 pts and third K Anderson on 42 pts.

Leon Blom won the Saturday’s Charlies outing and is becoming a regular, taking everyone’s money.

Seven Seniors took part in the annual Graaff Reinet tournament where we played two days of golf with Seniors from Free State, Eastern Cape, Border and Southern Cape. It was great to see ex-Kimberley golfers John Lancaster, Attie van Niekerk and Fires Van Vuuren now playing for SC. Fires and partner won the Saturday BBS competition while our Daan Fourie and partners won the Sunday 4 ball Alliance with two scores to count.

The following is planned for September 23 to October 2:

Today: The Sun Flamingo Niner Special.

Tomorrow: The KGC and Technical High School Tekkies IPS Golf Day with R10,000 worth of prizes to be won. Also the weekly Charlies outing.

Sunday, September 25: Final round of the Sealing Solutions Sunday League as well as social golf.

Latest standings for the Sunday League are: Terminators on 67; the Golf Shop 61; the Rising Stars 59.5; Puffies 58.5; the Motley Crew 50; Sealing Solutions 46 and C-Pac 29.Social golf with special rates.

Monday, September 26: Course closed as usual but remember the office is open for business.

Tuesday, September 27: Social golf with special rates applying.

Wednesday, September 28: The OBC sponsored IPS competition.

Thursday, September 29: The KWV Sponsored Niner with a special rate for a golf cart of R150.

Friday, September 30: Friday special Sun Flamingo Niner IPS competition.

Saturday, October 1: KGC Club competition plus the monthly Seniors and the weekly Charlies outings.

Sunday, October 2: Kimberley Seniors vs Bloemfontein Seniors BBS Match play competition as well as Social golf with special rates applying

• Bookings for the annual Barney Barnato tournament are also open with the entry form published on the KGC website.
