Meet Hanru Sirgel, nickname ‘Sirgel’

The 24 year-old, born in East London, plays at Flank and eighth man.

What sports do you enjoy apart from rugby: Golf

Who was the one person that motivated, inspired, and mentored you as a young player: My older brother

Your biggest rugby hero: Schalk Burger

Your biggest sporting hero outside of rugby: AB de Villiers

Favourite movie: Law Abiding Citizen or the Series – Suits

What type of music do you enjoy: Independent and Country

If you could pick your top three favourite songs, what would they be: Whiskey Glasses – Morgan Wallen, Lipstick – Kip Moore, Forever free – Goldfish.

Do you have a pet: No, unfortunately, our complex is not pet friendly, but I love dogs

Favourite drill in the gym or at practice: Box jumps and pull-ups

Least favourite exercise: Deadlifts

One day, after rugby … what are your plans: It all depends on how successful my career turns out. If I am very successful, I would love to use my knowledge to coach high school teams and possibly give classes (business/accounting). If it’s not too successful I would use my degree in investments.
