E-Sport national colours up for grabs this weekend

Due to the International Esport Federation having brought forward the 15th World Esports Championships, Mind Sports South Africa will be offering all registered players the opportunity to qualify for selection to the national squad.

KEYBOARDS will be clacking, mice will be clicking and video game controllers are going to be wriggled, wiggled and toggled when the Northern Cape Online Esports Championships takes place on Saturday (tomorrow).

Due to the International Esport Federation (IESF) having brought forward the 15th World Esports Championships (WEC) from December to August this year, Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) will be offering all registered players the opportunity to qualify for selection to the national squad and for the Proteas team.

In order to participate, however, players must be registered for the 2022/23 season.

The provincial championship taking place on Saturday (tomorrow) will feature Shooter games like Call of Duty Mobile, Counter-Strike Go Desktop and PubG Mobile. There will also be Sport competitions namely, Fifa 23 Console, E-Football 23 (Konami) Console, Rocket League Desktop and Console and Sim racing – Assetto Corsa Competizione Desktop.

Battle Arena games; DotA2 Desktop, Clash Royale Mobile, League of Legends Desktop, Clash of Clans Mobile and Mobile Legends Bang Bang Mobile will also be contested.

Fighting Games will also be featured with Tekken 7 Console and Street Fighter V Console. And for the less aggressive, there’s the Card Game HearthStone.

Entry fee is R100 per registered player, and only fully-paid-up registered players may participate in this event. Entries can be found at https://rb.gy/ithqb3 and have to be submitted by midnight on Friday, January 27 2023.
