MEMBERS of the Upington SAPS Crime Prevention unit arrested a 28-year-old suspected drug dealer and confiscated a number of drugs at a residence on Saturday.

The drugs included dagga, tik and mandrax.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela said the members followed up on information received about drugs allegedly being sold.

He said the police searched the premises and found the drugs hidden inside a drawer.

“A 28-year-old man was arrested and is expected to appear in court soon,” said Masegela.

The acting station commander of Upington, Colonel Gert Jobs, commended the police members and encouraged them to continue with the effort to remove drugs from the streets of Upington.
