TWO MEN were arrested in Deben for being in possession of suspected stolen goods.

Deben SAPS spokesperson Captain Mosimaneotsile Letsapa said that Sergeant Kevin Olyn and Constable Nonofo Chiri were busy with stop-and-search operations at the Soweto Section on February 18.

“While searching, they found one suspect in possession of a suspected stolen grinder and a few minutes later, in the same vicinity, they found the other suspect in possession of a suspected stolen laptop,” said Letsapa.

He said both suspects were apprehended after failing to produce proof of ownership to the police officers.

“Both suspects will appear in the Kathu Magistrate’s Court on a charge of possession of suspected stolen goods,” added Letsapa.

The acting commander of John Taolo Gaetsewe District, Brigadier Johnny Besnaar, said that the SAPS would continue to carry out stop-and-searches.
