THE HAWKS’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, together with Roodepan Crime Prevention and the Kimberley Flying Squad, arrested two suspects on Monday for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Hawks provincial spokesperson Captain Tebogo Thebe said the team followed up on information regarding illegal activities taking place at a house in Eagle Street, Roodepan.

“A search-and-seizure operation was conducted, which resulted in one revolver with ammunition and a plastic bag containing white powder, suspected to be narcotics, being confiscated,” said Thebe.

“The two suspects, who are 19 and 45 years old, are expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court today (Monday).”
