Police seek help finding missing elderly patient

The Northern Cape police have requested the public’s assistance in locating a missing 80-year-old patient, August Waterboer, who was admitted to Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley.

THE NORTHERN Cape police have requested the public’s assistance in locating a missing 80-year-old patient, August Waterboer, who was admitted to Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital (RMSH) in Kimberley.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam said Waterboer was last seen by security guards at the hospital.

“Waterboer resides in Loeriesfontein. He was admitted to RMSH in Kimberley and was last seen by security guards walking out of the hospital entrance on Friday, February 2, 2024, and he never returned. He was wearing brown trousers and a blue checked shirt.”

Sam urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of the elderly man to contact the police.

“Anyone who might have information on the whereabouts of Waterboer can contact Detective Sergeant Jon-Ross Webb on 069 703 9826 or 08600 10111 or either SMS anonymously to 32211 or use the MySAPS app. All information will be treated confidentially.

“The public is further reminded that there is no waiting period to report a missing person,” Sam concluded.
