A 47-YEAR-old man was arrested for being in possession of mandrax tablets and cocaine with an estimated street value of R10,000 at a block of flats in Prieska.
Captain Olebogeng Tawana on Friday said the police in Prieska received a tip-off and raided the suspect’s apartment in Ou Upington Weg.
“During the search Prieska police members found the suspect in possession of 43 full mandrax tablets and cocaine weighing 41,51 grams with a combined estimated street value of over R10,000.
“The suspect who is a foreign national is expected to appear in the Prieska Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of dealing in drugs.”
The acting district commander of the Pixley Ka Seme district Brigadier Nomana Adonis commended the members and applauded Prieska community members for being resolute in reporting criminal activities within their community.
“We are committed to continue to build strong community policing partnership in the Pixley Ka Seme District in the collective fight against the scourge of drugs activities in the community”, she stated.
