THE DEPARTMENT of Transport, Safety and Liaison’s provincial offices at the Ocean Echo building in Kimberley will re-open on Wednesday after the building was closed on Tuesday for decontamination.

It was reported that the building was closed for a second consecutive day this week after two officials, one of whom is a director, tested positive for Covid-19.

It is believed that one of the officials was admitted to hospital for medical treatment.

Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison spokesperson Rennie Andrias confirmed that two officials reported to the head of department that they had tested positive for Covid-19.

“The provincial office will be open tomorrow (Wednesday) to resume services to the public. We apologise for any inconvenience,” Andrias added.
