A FOREIGN national was arrested after he was found in possession of 40 zip-lock bags containing crystal meth.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said that members of the Hopetown Visible Policing unit were conducting crime-prevention patrols on the R369 on October 15 when they approached and searched the suspect after he was spotted at a hitch-hiking spot.
“He was expected to appear in the Hopetown Magistrate’s Court on October 17 on a charge of possession of drugs,” said Tawana.
He added that the Richmond police opened an enquiry docket after a detective recovered two abandoned boxes containing khat plants on the side of the road in Richmond.
