COMMUNITY members stripped naked a suspect whom they accused of raping a toddler in Number 2, Galeshewe and marched him with nothing but a piece of cloth tied around his waist to the Witdam police station on Sunday.
Residents questioned the man, while he was holding a beer bottle and walking barefoot to the police station, asking him why he saw it fit to “rape a child”.
Police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said on Monday that no information relating to the allegation of the rape of a two-year-old toddler could be verified.
“No such case was reported to the police in Galeshewe. However, the police will continue to intensify the follow-up on this allegation,” said Tawana.
