A passer by found the deceased in an advanced stage of decomposition about 10 kilometres outside Garies.
The Garies police are investigating an inquest into the death of an unknown woman whose body was found under a bridge near the N7.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock, said a passer by found the body in an advanced stage of decomposition about 10 kilometres outside Garies on May 26.
“The deceased is of average build and height, with short black hair and has no top teeth.
“She was dressed in a black ski-pants, a light blue top and black shoes with white soles.”
He added that the police also found bags with clothes, toiletries, a Hurricane cell phone and cash on the scene.
“The police request anyone who might have any information on the woman to contact Detective Constable Sias on 082 418 4719. The investigation continues.”
