“Applicants are asked to be patient as the university takes due care in processing and finalising the outstanding applications.”
THE SOL Plaatje University in Kimberley has seen an influx of prospective students attempting to secure space to study at the university.
Spokesperson for the university Mosima Mehlape said on Friday that this number had perceptibly increased after the release of the matric results.
“Our admissions department has been working tirelessly to ensure all walk-ins are assisted. We have thus far received more than
3 800 applications.”
According to Mehlape, the university is still accepting late applications for all undergraduate programmes with the exception of the BCom and Higher Certificate in Heritage Studies.
“The closing date for late applications is dependent on the availability of space for the programmes.”
She added that due to the large number of walk-ins received, the university was currently processing a large number of applications.
“Applicants are asked to be patient as the university takes due care in processing and finalising the outstanding applications.”
For the 2020 academic year, the university can only accommodate 780 undergraduate registered students.
