The defending champions, TN, went from tyres to tired.
The hot, dry and gusty conditions had little effect on Brenton Marthinus on Saturday afternoon. A gross 76 for 39 individual points had him placed first on the day. Several players returned 38 points, the count-out deemed Jackie Beukes second and Shane Arthur third.
The top two players each returned 20 points in the Friday Sun Flamingo Niner.
The count-out placed Donald Hlakudi first and Andries Kori second. Three players followed on 19 points – Wade King, Gavin Oliver and Tshepo Molusi.
Page one, number 19, missing a month or so back Gail Aysen was very much present the second time round to collect her R1 950 in the Friday snowball draw.
Evan Painting made the most of the par fives’ new stoke rating to record eight points and six points on the long holes for a winning 24 points total in the Thursday KWV Niner. Keith Brown, who recorded an eight-pointer at the eighth was the runner-up on 23 points.
Herbie Woodbridge was third on 22 points, a six pointer at the third.
Outside of the winners a further seven players posted a mix of eight and six pointers for a ticket in the draw.
That draw is scheduled for Thursday December 20.
It was Nigel Page (35 points) first, Dries du Plessis (34) second and Mike Doherty (33) third in the Leon’s House of Liquor Individual Stableford competition on Wednesday.
