Results for the week of August 9 to 12

Wednesday, August 9 saw an excellent turnout of 115 players on the Women’s Golf Day. The Men’s Division was won by Zayied Suliman on 43pts with Aldrich Vermeulen 2nd on 42pts and Allan Doherty 3rd on 41pts. The Ladies Division was won by Dee Kidson on 44pt with Helena Janse 2nd on 37pts and Noleen Dippenaar 3rd on 35pts. The Junior Division was won by Toerien Diedericks on 41pts with Barrie van Zyl 2nd on 39pts and Peo Maneng 3rd on 37pts.

The Thursday, August 10 KWV sponsored 9-hole IPS with power play options was won by Shane Arthur on 24pts with Kevin Antil 2nd on 23pts and Kevin Wakeford 3rd on 21pts.

The Friday, August 11 NC Cricket Golf Day with a 2 ball American Scramble was won by the team of P Thompson and Bradly Slingers on 53pts. Second were R Stander and E Kuluman with 52pts G Marais and A Borraine were 3rd also on 52pts. Fourth were C Fortune and M Liebenberg on 51 pts. Fifth were Ronnie Engelbrecht and William Wepener with 50pts on a count-out over 6th placed Andries Kori and N Maneng. Eighth and ninth respectively on the same 50pt score were E Snyman and C Gordon and Clive Korope and Shane Arthur.

The Saturday, August 11 Club 18-hole IPS competition was won by Barend Burger with 38pts. Second was Willie Delport on 37pts and 3rd Phillip Maritz on 36 on a count-out. Willie Delport also won the Charlies competition. The Seniors had a great outing to Parys playing both Val De Grace and Parys courses against teams from the Free State, Gauteng and Gauteng North. We came 4th … out of four. Difficult courses especially Parys.

PLEASE NOTE that the visitor fee for 18 holes has been reduced to R350. Except for corporate and other special days.

Friday, August 18: Kidney Awareness Golf Day

Saturday, August 19: Club IPS competition and the weekly Charlies outing.

Sunday, August 20: Social golf as well as an invitation to all Juniors to come and play under the tutelage of William. Cost is R140 per entry.

Monday, August 21: Course closed but office open for business

Tuesday, August 22: Social golf with special rates applying.

Wednesday, August 23: John Dorys sponsored IPS over 18 holes.

Thursday, August 24: KWV sponsored Niner.

Friday, August 25: Griquas Rugby Golf day.

Saturday, August 26: Club BBS competition and the weekly Charlies outing.

Sunday, August 27: Some games are still outstanding so results are pending. Then Social golf.

Monday, August 28: Course closed but office open for business
