Kimberley Golf Club results and next week’s competitions

The results from the Kimberley Golf Club for the Barney week of October 24-29 are as follows:

The Tuesday New Vaal Motors sponsored winner was D Thomas on 42 pts with Zullie Sulliman 2nd on 41pts and Dries Mostert 3rd on 40 pts.

The Wednesday Distell sponsored winner was P Niemand on 44 pts with Neil Langley 2nd on 40 pts and Zain Mobara 3rd on 39 pts.

The Thursday Tullemore D.E.W. sponsored winner was D Wykes on 41 pts with C Alexander 2nd on 39 pts and Doc Allie 3rd on a count-out also on 39 pts.

The Friday Sun Flamingo Casino sponsored winner was Helena Janse on 43 pts with K Aysen 2nd on 41 pts and Gail Aysen 3rd on 40 pts.

The Saturday KWV sponsored winner was Doc Allie on 39 pts with P Raubenheimer 2nd on 39 pts and Shane Arthur 3rd on 36 pts. A highlight on Saturday was Brian Doherty hitting a hole-in-one on number 6.

The overall Order of Merit winner for the week in the Men’s section was Doc Allie on 185 pts with Lutchman Poonawassy 2nd on 184.

The Ladies Order of Merit was won by M Bucholtz, all the way from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, on 164 pts with Gladys Poonawassy 2nd on 153 pts.

The KGC thanks all participants and sponsors for a great week of golf.

The following is planned for November 4-13:

• Players please note that you must putt out in a competition, else your score will not count.

Today: The MVD Kalahari closed competition.

Tomorrow: The Horseshoe, Airport hotels and Kalahari Lodge sponsored Medal/ IPS competition. Also the weekly Charlies and monthly Seniors outings.

Sunday, November 6: Social golf with special rates applying.

Monday, November 7: Course closed, but office is open for business.

Tuesday, November 8: Social golf with special rates applying.

Wednesday, November 9: The Konica Minolta sponsored 18 hole BBS competition.

Thursday, November 10: The KWV sponsored Niner.

Friday, November 11: The Bakenskop sponsored Corporate Golf.

Saturday, November 12: The KGC IPS competition and the weekly Charlies outing.

Sunday, November 13: Social golf with special rates applying.
