THE TWO top rugby schools, Diamantveld and Northern Cape High, will once again face each other in the annual FNB Classic Clashes at Diamantveld on Saturday.

The netball will also be competitive when Diamantveld High and Northern Cape face each other at 5 pm on Friday afternoon on court 1 at Diamantveld.

All the rugby matches take place on Saturday starting at 8 am, on the B field.

In the first game of the day DHS U-15 B team will tackle Grey College’s U-15 D team, while at 8.30am DHS U-14A team play their rivals NCH.

Some entertaining rugby matches in the age groups will be on offer up until the main game at 1pm.

Last season hosts NCH managed to beat DHS in the final minute when their star player, Cameron Hufke scored the winning try to give his team a narrow 26-19 victory.

This season, however, Northern Cape has had an uphill battle as they are blooding a group of young players said coach Deon Carney.

“We hope that the players will be up to the challenge,” Carney said.

Meanwhile the Diamonds coach, Jaco Dames said that his team has had a pretty good season and they are looking forward to the game.
