This eagerly awaited annual archery event will host nearly 950 archers hailing from all corners of South Africa, each with their sights set on glory.

The AGA-SA National Archery Tournament is a grand showcase of skill and precision, and this year’s competition promises to maintain that legacy. On October 4, provincial teams from around the country will go head-to-head, all competing for the coveted gold medal. The following two days, October 5 and 6, will bring together school clubs, private clubs, and individual archers from across South Africa to demonstrate their archery prowess.

The results of these three days of intense competition will unveil the top national archers of 2023.

This year, the AGA-NC Provincial Coordinator, Dawid de Greeff, extended his heartfelt appreciation to the association’s sponsors, including Ekapa Mining, NTT Volkswagen & Audi Kimberley, and NTT Suzuki. These sponsors have played a pivotal role by providing provincial apparel, including branded T-shirts and bow bags, to 37 Northern Cape Archers.

De Greeff underlined the indispensable role of these sponsors in enabling the Northern Cape teams to participate in this prestigious event. He also noted the remarkable growth in the standard of Northern Cape archers since archery was introduced to the province in January 2022, making them true ambassadors for the brands that support them.

The Diamond Fields Advertiser proudly serves as the media sponsor for the AGA-NC teams, reaffirming the newspaper’s commitment to promoting sports and community involvement. Through its sponsorship, DFA ensures that the accomplishments and talents of the AGA-NC teams are acknowledged and celebrated on a national stage.

“As the AGA-NC teams gear up for the tournament, we extend our best wishes to all team members and their families. Your dedication, discipline, and hard work have brought you to this moment, and we hope you reap the fruits of your labour,” stated de Greeff.
