National teams of African Genesis Archery (AGA) faced-off against opponents in the international virtual event. Teams doing battle were South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, who each hosted their own event in a city in their own country. The live event was then broadcast so that teams were actually competing virtually against the other countries in real time.
Archers competed in a Bull’s Eye as well as a 3D competition. In the Bull’s Eye competition, archers were given 15 arrows to shoot at an 80cm fita target (stationary circular targets) at a 10m distance and then 15 arrows at a 15m distance to get a score out of 300.
Then, in the 3D competition arrows were shot at six, 3D moulded, life-size animals with points being awarded accordingly. Individual archers and teams with the highest overall scores were then announced as winners of the tournament.
