Ralani said that this time has the support of the Local Football Association in hosting the tournament
Bradley “Surprise” Ralani the Cape Town City FC forward will once again be hosting his annual youth soccer tournament at the Galeshewe Stadium and the adjacent astroturf. The event kicks off on Friday and Ralani has invited all interested youth aged from 12 years-old to under-25 years of age to come and join in as part of the June 16 Youth Day commemorations.
Ralani, who is on a short break from his Cape Town-based PSL club, yesterday said he has shifted the hosting dates of the four-year-old youth tournament from the December period to mid-year as this coincides with his club’s end-of-season calendar.
December suited him before as he was playing in Europe and the time he had off during the Christmas break came in handy then, he said.
The Cape Town City striker said the local youth tournament has grown from its initial intake of just 30 youths to where it now attracts close to 500 entrants.
Ralani said that this time, as before, he has the support of the Local Football Association in hosting the tournament. The LFA has also agreed to him using their playing grounds and even their match officials for the tournament.
A grateful Ralani also made a point of thanking his club, Cape Town City, for their support and his personal sponsors Puma as well as other supporters like Absa Bank, the Sol Plaatje University and LoveLife for their hand in the soccer clinic initiative he started.
For those interested in being a part of the tournament, registration will start at 9am on Friday, June 14, and things will wrap up on Monday 17 June.
