Pescodia Porto demolished Macarena 4-1 in a one-sided SAB Frances Baard region game at a sizzling hot Galeshewe Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The half-time score was 1-1, but Porto pulled away in the second half.
Porto coach Arlon Wilson was very excited at getting his New Year’s present in the shape of the club’s convincing display in what was essentially the first game of the second part of the playing season.
The losing coach, Lebogang Kgosiemang of Macarena, readily conceded after the match that Porto was the better team on the day. But was quick to add that they also had themselves to blame, saying: “We made a lot of silly mistakes which costs us.”

Thabisho Fredericks scored Macarena’s only goal.
In another game at the same venue, the “Yellow Canaries” Dalton Brothers FC slaughtered Delportshoop United FC 4-0. Both teams campaign in the SAB League. In Saturday’s match Dalton players Ayanda Tyutyu and Luthando Ntlola each contributed a brace.
Dalton’s long-standing coach Daddy Muchanga was so moved by this early windfall at the restart of the season that he apparently wasn’t going to wait for a face-to-face meeting.
He whipped out his phone and called his team boss Jomo Bonokwane to inform him about the win from the Stadium.
