Safa urges SA to rally behind Banyana Banyana

PORT ELIZABETH – The SA Football Association (Safa),have urged South Africa to support Banyana Banyana as they look to defend their Cosafa Women’s Championship title on home turf with the tournament starting in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.

“We are immensely proud of Banyana Banyana’s growth over the past years,” said Safa CEO Dennis Mumble.

“We have full belief in their abilities and in the dream of qualification for next year’s Fifa Women’s World Cup in France. They, however, need the country’s support – to know the whole of South Africa is behind them will give them an extra boost in achieving their goals. We thus urge all of South Africa send them your messages of motivation.”

“South Africa’s support means everything to us. We play for you and to see you backing Banyana Banyana gives us extra motivation. Be assured that every message will be seen by the team and will drive us to win for South Africa,” said Banyana vice captain Refiloe Jane.- African News Agency (ANA)
