Safa’s disciplinary committee has ordered that Jomo Cosmos FC apologise to Hungry Lions FC and its player against whom Cosmos on Monday night dramatically withdrew its allegations that the Northern Cape team improperly fielded Tshepo Mohlala in their Glad Africa matches.

The Safa disciplinary committee sat on Monday afternoon to deliberate over the complaint by Jomo Cosmos. Cosmos had a week ago alleged that Hungry Lions had irregularly fielded Mohlala and alleged that the player was a “defaulter” in the Hungry Lions line-up in that he was still on their books.

Safa’s prosecutor Zola Majavu, sitting with a full disciplinary panel, accepted Cosmos’ withdrawal of the complaint against Hungry Lions and ordered that Cosmos apologise publicly to both Hungry Lions and Mohlala.

Majavu also instructed that Cosmos pay an “agreed amount of money” in respect of the attendant legal costs of the defendants in the matter.

Cosmos had at the end of the last season been relegated from the league. They will now campaign in the third tier ABC Motsepe league.
