NCC’s run chase after the lunch break was a pathetic effort and the pride of the Province were skittled for a miserable 31.

Northern Cape gave another lacklustre display when they were hammered by 211 runs by Namibia on Day 5 of the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Under-19 Cricket Week at the St Davids 2nd Oval in Johannesburg yesterday.

Namibia batted first and got off to a good start with their top order batsmen amongst the runs. The opening pair, Jurgen Linde (36) and Ramon Wilmot (20) put on 61 runs for the first wicket. Thereafter Lohandré Louwrens (29) and Erich von Mollendorf (34), put on 40 runs for the third wicket.

Other top-order batsmen who contributed to the Namibians’ to a grand total of 242/9 in their 50 overs, were Jan Loftie-Eaton (21), Gerhard Lottering (39), while Extras contributed 25.

The best of the NCC bowlers, who were rather expensive, were Kutlwano Mokwena (2/40), Mkhuseli Mayekiso (2/47) and Garyn Weyers (2/47).
