Peter Jansen posted 41 individual stableford points to pip the Saturday field. Johan Oosthuizen and Derrick Dobson were second and third respectively, each on 40 points. Johan Herselman was fourth on 39 points.

Meanwhile, 125 players teed up to a shotgun (fly past) start in Friday’s much anticipated SANDF Golf Day. The format a fourball alliance, two scores to count.

Rain interference hardly dampened the occasion, as it was participating rather than winning that truly counted.

A well drilled golfing event, as befitted the Armed Forces Day 2018, it will also be remembered for its extraordinary generosity throughout the whole proceedings.

Kevin Wakeford, a big six at the 12th and the 18th, posted 27 points and a second win in as many weeks. Peter Jansen, a big six at the 14th, was second on 25 points. Evan Painting posted an eight pointer on the final hole for 23 points and third place. Mike Visser, Willie Uys, Ant Crozier, Nico Ross, Deuce Leburu, Machiel Cronjé, Mikah and Luchmen Poonawassy all reported six pointers.

Team OBC Chicken, Angelo Rodriguez and Harry Welham, returned the best betterball score in Wednesday’s Konica Minolta Business League outing. Gavin Schafer and Charl Olivier were second on 45 points in a count-out from Kevin Collings and Johnny Cloete.

In the individual section it was Gavin Schafer (41), Harry Welham (39) and Stefan Le Roux (37).
