Proteas Women skipper Laura Wolvaart led from the front as the South Africans took a 1-0 lead in the One Day International series against Sri Lanka at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley on Saturday night.

Wolvaart notched up another ODI century, scoring 110 off 141 balls, as she and the ever-reliable Marizanne Kapp (77 off 84 balls) put on a 144-run partnership just a short while before the heavens opened and rain pelted down in Kimberley.

The action now moves to the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom, when the third and final match of the series takes place on Wednesday, April 17 2024.

With the first match being rained out, the Proteas will not want to give the visitors the opportunity to level the series, and will be going all out for the win.
