THE PROTEA Women’s team is hoping to carry their winning momentum forward when they clash with Bangladesh in the city tomorrow.

Coming off two great wins against Bangladesh, the women will be using the match tomorrow as well as their upcoming fixtures to improve before heading off to England next month.

The Momentum Proteas Women’s team produced a resounding, 106-run victory in the opening match of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Women’s One-Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom on Friday.

A sensational performance by the bowlers, led by Ayabonga Khaka and Raisibe Ntozakhe set up the Momentum Proteas’ nine-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the second Cricket South Africa (CSA) Women’s ODI at Senwes Park on Sunday.

Caretaker coach, Salieg Nackerdien, said yesterday that the upcoming matches are important for the Proteas.

“These matches are very important to us as they form part of our preparations for our upcoming tour to England. We would like, however, to continue with the good work, but also want to put our opposition under more pressure, so as to create better wins, as we know England will be tougher opposition.”

He added that the squad is looking very fit.

The match tomorrow at the Diamond Oval starts at 9.45.

The teams’ remaining fixtures are:

ODI’s:

9 May at the Diamond Oval.

11 May at the Diamond Oval.

14 May at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.

T20s:

17 May at the Diamond Oval.
