The combined Western Province and Blue Bulls team, the Blue Province, hammered the Limpopo XV 60-0 yesterday at the Diskobolos army base outside Kimberley where the SANDF Rugby Week is being hosted.

The rampant Blue Province ran away with the game from kick-off registering two tries within the opening five minutes, with both conversion attempts sailing wide. Limpopo struggled to match their opponents throughout the half. By the break Limpopo had fallen 26-0 behind, and after the resumption the Blue Province carried on from where they had left matters. They scored the fifth try within 10 minutes of the break and eventually raced to that 60-0 scoreline.

In yesterday’s earlier match the Free State women’s Defence team had the run of the roost when they clobbered North West Women 32-13. Free State scored five tries, two conversions and slotted a penalty, while North West could only manage two tries, a conversion and a penalty in reply.

In the opening match of the day the Free State women demolished the Northern Cape women’s defence team 43-0. They dotted down seven tries and kicked four conversions.

The last group matches take place today, with the knockouts scheduled for Friday.
