Cricket South Africa and KFC will, in honour of 40 years of mini-cricket development, celebrate that milestone in style.

Northern Cape Cricket will be part of a nationwide KFC-funded mini-cricket festival for youngsters as they will host hundreds of cricketing hopefuls at the Diamond Oval in Cassandra on Saturday, August 20.

A statement released to media by the organisers said Cricket South Africa and KFC will, in honour of 40 years of mini-cricket development, celebrate that milestone in style with a record size, simultaneous festival in all 16 of the cricketing provinces in South Africa.

“This will set a world record as the largest cricket festival ever with over 10,000 children having bucket loads of fun in over 1,200 matches. Each region will host between 500-1000 kids during the tournament,” the statement declared.
