The injury will be cause for concern for Oosthuizen who was forced to withdraw from the Scottish Open in July with the same problem
South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen yesterday withdrew from the Dubai Desert Classic before the start of his first round, citing a neck injury.
“Louis Oosthuizen sadly had to withdraw from the Dubai Desert Classic ahead of this morning’s first round due to a neck injury, with Sebastian Soderberg taking his place. Get well soon Louis!” the Dubai Desert Classic organisers said in a statement.
The injury will be cause for concern for Oosthuizen who was forced to withdraw from the Scottish Open in July with the same problem.
The 36-year-old finished fourth last week at the Abu Dhabi Championship with rounds of 65 and 68 vaulting him into contention, before a third round 75 dropped him down the leaderboard. A final round 66 saw him finish four shots off the winning score.
