LAST Saturday, the Kimberley Health and Occupational Centre was buzzing with excitement as the New Champions Boxing Academy and Platinum Boxing Gym jointly hosted an inter-club tournament.
The event, held at Kimberley Ekapa Mines, brought together boxing enthusiasts and showcased talent from seven participating clubs: New Champions Boxing Academy, Platinum Boxing Gym, Hope Town Boxing Club, Home Defenders Boxing Club, Rusty Gloves Boxing Club, Prieska Boxing Club and Van Zylsrus Boxing Club
The tournament featured 10 thrilling bouts that highlighted the skills and determination of local boxers, and the fans that filled the venue contributed to the exciting atmosphere. Their cheers were contagious, inspiring both athletes and spectators alike.
The tournament’s organisers expressed gratitude to the community for their enthusiastic support and to their sponsor, DC10 Electrical, for making the event possible.
“This tournament was more than just a competition. It was a celebration of talent and the passion for boxing in our region,” said one of the organisers. “We’ve identified promising athletes who have the potential to become stars of tomorrow. With continued support, these boxers can achieve greatness.”
