Caritas, the Kimberley based charity organisation this week shone the spotlight on their brand ambassadors who have pledged their time to canvass support for the organisation.

Caritas marketing manager Este van der Merwe, in introducing the team to the public explained why these particular ambassadors were chosen.

“Last week we held a small function to welcome our cycling ambassadors. They each received their cycling shirts and will represent Caritas at various cycling events throughout South Africa,” she said.

“Our ambassadors were chosen as we were looking for people who have some connection with our cause and our organisation.

“People who are generous of themselves and who we know would be passionate about Caritas and what we do in the community,” she added.

Van der Merwe explained that as a non-profit organisation they rely on donations from the public to sustain their operations.

She said that the ambassadors do not receive any monetary sponsorship, but would engage with people who want to know more about Caritas and to seek out fund-raising opportunities for the organisation.
