Lap distance: 5.891km.
Total distance: 306.198km (52 laps)

2017 pole: Lewis Hamilton (Britain) Mercedes, one minute 26.600 seconds.

2017 winner: Hamilton

Lap record: Hamilton. 1:30.621 (2017)

RACE WINS

Reigning champion Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel have three wins each this season. Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo has two and Max Verstappen one.

POINTS

Vettel leads Hamilton by one point.

Hamilton’s record run of 33 successive scoring finishes ended in Austria on Sunday with his first retirement since Malaysia in 2016.

Ferrari are 10 points ahead of Mercedes in the constructors’ championship.

ABOUT BRITAIN

Hamilton is chasing his fifth straight win in Britain, and a record sixth in total. He would be the first driver ever to win five British Grands Prix in a row.

Mercedes have won the last five British Grands Prix, Nico Rosberg having won in 2013.

Pole is not a significant advantage, historically. But every winner has started from fourth or higher since 2000.

MILESTONES

Mercedes can take their 80th Grand Prix win, making them fourth in the all-time standings. They are currently tied with Lotus.

Sunday’s race is the last in an unprecedented triple-header – three races over three successive weekends (France, Austria, Britain) – with the season’s schedule tweaked to avoid a clash with the World Cup final in Russia.
