Saturday’s Senior Presidents Day, a betterball stableford, attracted just under 100 players to the Kimberley Golf Club.

Wade King and Ronnie Engelbrecht finished somewhat in front on 49 points, the latter contributing 45 on his own after carding a gross 76. The runners-up were Helena Janse and Sandra Nel on 47 points. Hannes Le Roux and Nigel Page were third on 45 with Johnny Cloete and Wedge Crozier fourth on 44.

Nine holes with a difference. Dropped shots on 1, 5 and 9 interspersed with an eagle, four birdies and two pars had Andries Kori return a three-under-par gross 33 for 21 points and another weekly win in the Friday Sun Flamingo Meat Niner. Ramon Barlow (20), Kariem Anderson (19), Shane Arthur (19) and Francois Schwartz (18) were the remaining prize winners.

A birdie on the third for a powerplay eight-pointer gave Reagan Woodbridge the edge in the Thursday KWV Powerplay Niner, her 21 points one ahead of the field. Wedge Crozier was second on 20 with Herbie Woodbridge third on 19.

Willie Delport claimed the second Wednesday competition in a row when he posted 40 individual points in the monthly Darsha Insurance Brokers Competition. Johan Herselman was second on 39, with Kevin Collings third on 36 points.

The Coming week

The July Konica Minolta Business League outing takes place tomorrow. This will be followed by the KWV Powerplay Niner on Thursday and the Sun Flamingo Meat Niner along with snowball draw (R1850) on Friday.

At the weekend there is a Club competition on Saturday, followed by the July Sealing Solutions League outing on Sunday morning at 9am, the format combined matchplay.
