Durban — Kaizer Chiefs could be set to name a new coach on Thursday, according to reliable reports.

A source close to the club said that “he’s landing” but did not elaborate further on who the new coach would be.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are also set to unveil new signings on Thursday. They have all but secured the signature of Stellenbosch defender Zitha Kwinika.

The 28-year-old was named as the Stellenbosch FC Player of the Season and was impressive during the most recent campaign as Steve Barker’s side exceeded expectations.

Chiefs have also been linked with the signature of Stellies forward Ashley Du Preez. Du Preez was one of the impressive attackers in the top flight last season as he scored nine goals. The 24-year-old notably caused problems for the Sundowns defence two weeks ago as he bagged a brace to help his side down Masandawana 3-0.

A third player who Chiefs have been tipped with is AmaZulu’s Siyethemba Sithebe.

The 29-year-old has not played for Usuthu since earlier in the year after he was reportedly punished for speaking to other clubs amidst reports of interest from Chiefs.

This caused frustration to ex-AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy.
