Two players returned 40 individual stableford points in Saturday’s Annual St Albans Church Golf Fund-raiser. A count-out determined Steven Turner first and Bennie Claasen the runner-up. Donald Whitebooi and Noreen-Anne Crozier were third and fourth, each on 37 points. Dries Mostert was fifth on 36 points in a count-out.

Winner of the annual raffle, the traditional double bed (base and mattress included), was Stafford Salo. Winner of the best post prizegiving snacks on offer, St Albans Church.

Parks Mashabao posted the top score, 22 points, in the Sun Flamingo Niner on Friday. Gail Aysen was the runner-up on 21 points. OJ Maimane was third on 20 points in a count-out from fourth placed Ramon Barlow.

The final prize went to LJ Thomane on 18 points.

Kevin Wakeford, with six pointers at the 12th and the 18th, returned a winning 25 points in the Thursday KWV Powerplay Niner. Nico Ross was the runner-up on 23 points, a big six at the 16th.

An intermittently busy Machiel Cronjé was third on 18 points. Between pauses he posted a six pointer at the 11th and an eight pointer at the 16th. Willie Uys, Jock Robey and Wedge Crozier also recorded six pointers.

Wednesday’s Konica Minolta Business league produced exceptional winning scores.

Willie Delport and Johan Herselman returned 48 betterball points to team outing. Kevin Collings and Johnny Cloete were the runners-up on 47 points. Harry Welham and Angelo Rodrigues were third on 46 points.

In the individual section it was Lennie Allen first on 44 points, Johnny Cloete second on 43 points and Harry Welham third on 41 points.

The Coming Week

On Wednesday it is the Sundowner Lodge sponsored competition. The on Thursday it is the KWV Powerplay Niner.

Friday sees the Sun Flamingo Niner and the snowball draw. Thanks to the rare absence of Luchmen Poonawassy on Friday, the value moves forward to0 R1 300.

The Northern Cape Mid-Amateur Open takes place over the weekend at the KGC, any opportunity for member play will be confirmed on Thursday.
