NCC have to kick on from last week’s performance against a stronger Northerns team
After their emphatic victories over KZN Coastal last weekend in both CSA provincial competitions, the Three-Day Cup and the One-Day Challenge, Northern Cape Cricket will have their tails up when they entertain Northerns in their next three-day fixture that starts today at the Diamond Oval.
Following the three-dayer, the two teams will then face-off in the CSA One-Day Challenge on Sunday at the same venue.
NCC have to kick on from last week’s performance against a stronger Northerns team.
They did extremely well with both bat and ball in their last three-day match, dismissing KZN Coastal twice, while they only batted once to win by an innings and 26 runs.
The visitors could only manage scores of 182 and 254 while NCC scored a mammoth 462, with Jacques Snyman getting 63, Garnett Tarr 42 and Aubrey Swanepoel and Luyuyo Adam 62 each.
Meanwhile, in the one-day competition, KZN batted first and set NCC a target of 193, which they reeled in with ease thanks to Jacques Snyman’s 111 not out and Ernest Kemm’s 48 not out to chalk up a nine-wicket victory.
Unfortunately no comment on the weekend’s encounters was forthcoming from the NCC coach, JP Triegaardt, at the time of going to press last night.
