TAFEL Lager Griquas lost their second pre-season friendly against Toyota Cheetahs at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Friday 31-21 after the scores were level at half time.

This was a much improved performance from Griquas who played extremely well, especially in the first half. Head coach, Scott Mathie said, “We had a better performance this week. Although we are disappointed that we didn’t bring home the win, as we had more than enough chances that we didn’t finish”.

Hopefully they will correct their mistakes from this outing before taking on the Bulls at Loftus next Saturday.

“We struggled in our line outs as we conceded three maul tries and didn’t get consistent line out balls from which to attack. So that is certainly an area we need to address.”

“However, we improved our width on defence which led to a much better defensive performance”.

The coach ended by tell the DFA, that, “We will continue to rectify these errors and continue the process of improvement as we look forward to our game at Loftus next week.”

Saturday’s first round fixture against the Bulls at Loftus kicks off at 7pm.
