In Saturday’s IPS Pierre de Klerk made only his fourth appearance for 2017. But, he made it count in no uncertain way – a nine under net 63 for 45 individual points and a runaway win.

Eddie Barkhuizen was the runner-up on 41 points. A four-way count-out on 40 points placed Machiel Cronjé third, Wade King fourth with Mietie Aysen the final prizewinner.

Saturday also saw the final round of the annual CC Challenge, the first two rounds being completed on Friday.

This was the fifth anniversary of this Ryder Cup style format over three rounds between the Kimberley Team and their Joburg counterparts. Somewhat by tradition it has been the final round singles matches that have given the Kimberley Team the deciding edge.

Shaun Davies was first, Ivan Coetzee second, LJ Thomane third and Gavin Oliver fourth. Simon Moroke was fifth on 18 points.

Neville Alexander unleashed an eight-pointer to take the Thursday KWV Powerplay Niner on 24 points.

Braam Botes, complements of a big six, was the runner-up on 23 points. OJ Maimane, who also posted a big six, was third on 22 points.
