MAYIBUYE Centre in Galeshewe will once again play host to a boxing extravaganza on Saturday, September 9, when the District School Boys and Girls Junior Championships 2023, an event that promises to be a showcase of young boxing talent, takes place at the venue.

This championship competition is open to young boxers of various age groups. There is a category for School-Age Boxers: boys and girls aged between 12 and 14, born between 2009, 2010, and 2011. One for Junior Boxers: boys and girls aged between 15 and 16, born between 2007 and 2008. Also Youth-Age Boxers: boys and girls aged between 17 and 18, born between 2005 and 2006. As well as Elite Boxers: boys and girls aged between 19 and 40, born in 2004.

This diverse age range ensures that the tournament caters to a wide spectrum of budding pugilists, from those taking their first steps in the ring to more experienced contenders.

Aspiring fighters should please note that all participants must be registered with the Frances Baard Open Box Organisation. This ensures that the competition maintains the highest standards of safety and fairness.

The health and safety of the competitors are paramount. Therefore, all boxers, managers, and trainers are required to be present at the venue on September 9, 2023, at 9am, for medical check-ups and the official weigh-in. These measures are in place to guarantee that all fighters are in proper condition to compete in their respective weight classes.

Following the weigh-in, the anticipation will reach its peak as the draw takes place. Team managers and head coaches must be present with their team lists in hand. This draw will determine the match-ups and set the stage for an exciting day of boxing action.
