United put its last stitches of resistance together and simultaneously attempted brave forays forward to the Eagles posts with much potential

Casper Kingsley, the Rasta Fa Eagles team manager’s visit to the Diamond City on Saturday paid off handsomely when they beat Colville United 1-0 in their own backyard in an ABC Motsepe League fixture. The half-time score was goalless.

Kingsley readily acknowledged that United was by far the best-organised team in, especially, the opening quarter-hour of the game which was played at the AR Abass Stadium. After that, he reckons his players caught a wake-up call and concentrated well for the rest of the match. The result of that work is well supported by the end result.

United coach Arlon Wilson was lost for words after the match. The supporters too were equally dumbstruck at the result after the match.

United’s striker Xolani Makhubo especially will rue the many chances he let slip through his grasp. He got everything on a platter, yet he let it all slide. Rivaldo Barket of Eagles, on the other hand, was a bustle up front trying to force his way past the United defences. But many of his shots went way off target. The break arrived with no ball in the nets yet.

After the resumption, a soft drizzle blessed the pitch. The visiting Eagles team started as of then probing the agility of the United goalkeeper. They were clearly in the mood to get to a definitive result for this match.

United put its last stitches of resistance together and simultaneously attempted brave forays forward to the Eagles posts with much potential.

Eagles player Aloysius Saul at some point took a long shot at the United goalposts from a distance outside the goal area. He found the goalkeeper off his spot and the ball whizzed into an inviting net (1-0). This magnificent shot surely landed Eagles well in the winning stakes for this game.
