Former Northern Cape High pupil, Andrew Louw who was the first team cricket captain during his time at the school has been included in the South African Under-19 Cricket team that will take on the touring Pakistan team during June and July.

CEO of Northern Cape Cricket, Eugene Jacobs, spoke about what Louw’s selection meant for NCC. “It’s a huge honour for Northern Cape Cricket that Andrew Louw was selected for the SA Under-19 team to play Pakistan.

“The last SA Under-19 player that NCC produced was Aiden Brooker.

“The selection of Andrew bears testimony to the development programmes of Northern Cape Cricket, I would also pay tribute to all the coaches that have played a role in his development as a cricketer.”

Jacobs also sent a message to the young cricketer, telling him that there could still be big things to come. “Andrew, play well and enjoy the moment, but remember this is only the start of your career. There is some hard work lying ahead.” – Dave Alexander
