City boxing tournament to showcase impressive roster of fighters

Tomorrow, Kimberley will be the epicentre of thrilling boxing action as the New Champions Boxing Academy and Platinum Boxing and Fitness join forces to host an eagerly anticipated tournament.

Set to take place at the Kimberley Health and Occupational Centre at Ekapa Mines, Molyneau Street, the event kicks off at 12 noon, and promises an afternoon packed with competitive bouts.

The tournament will feature participation from top regional boxing clubs, including Van Zylsrus Boxing Club, Motaung Boxing Club from Kuruman, Prieska Boxing Club and Hope Town Boxing Club, who will be making their first-ever appearance in the tournament.

Local Kimberley clubs bringing their talent to the ring include Home Defenders Boxing Club, Just Do It Boxing Club and Babontse Boxing Club.

The DFA has been informed that Platinum Boxing and Fitness is introducing promising young fighters to the scene. The new talents to look out for are Tevin May (63–67 kg), Kenan Japhta (63–67 kg) and Richard Mogale (97 kg)

Meanwhile, New Champions Boxing Academy has a strong roster of fighters ready to showcase their skills. Their ranks include Amin Tsiane (57 kg limit), Landon Marais (54 kg limit), Rorisang Poloholo (female, 57 kg limit), Donavon Bubb (61 kg limit) and Dawnay Simons (75 kg limit)

With a mix of seasoned athletes and fresh talent, the tournament promises something for every boxing fan. This is the chance for Kimberley fight fans to witness local talent battle it out in the ring, making their communities proud.
