JOHANNESBURG – Kaizer Chiefs will have to make themselves comfortable at the home of their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates after Orlando Stadium was drawn as their home venue for the remainder of the Absa Premiership season.

After chairman Kaizer Motaung formed Amakhosi by branching off from Pirates, this will be a homecoming of sorts for the club, who have the been pacesetters in the league for the better part of the season.

Chiefs, however, are not the only side hoping Soweto will be good to them in their challenge for the championship, as second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, who are the defending champions, will be housed at the Dobsonville Stadium.

Meanwhile, GladAfrica Championship log leaders Ajax Cape Town have to ensure that they continue their bid for promotion to the elite league at Rand Stadium – which is officially the training venue of Orlando Pirates.

Swallows FC, who are second in the second-tier standings, will be housed at Makhulong Stadium, as they look to make the last push for automatic promotion to the top-flight after years of languishing in the doldrums of the lower leagues.

With the completion of the PSL season set to be hosted in a bio bubble in Gauteng, all 32 Premiership and National First Division clubs will make their way to their accommodation sometime next week ahead of the league’s August 11 restart.

However, Sundowns will open proceedings next weekend when they host Bidvest Wits at Dobsonville Stadium in semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, while Baroka FC will be at home at Bidvest Stadium against Bloemfontein Celtic in the other semi.

Kick-off and dates are yet to be confirmed.
